What a "direct file link" means
A URL that points at the media itself, ending in something like .mp3 or .mp4 and returning the file when opened — not a web page that happens to play it. If pasting the link into a browser starts a download or plays the file, it is a direct link.
Step by step
How the audio is read
The server fetches the media and cuts one 15-second snippet, taken from the middle by default or from your chosen start time. That snippet goes to the recognition service. Your copy is temporary and deleted right after recognition; the provider's own retention is described in the privacy policy.
Limits
- Direct MP3/MP4 links only — platform pages must be linked through their public URL instead.
- Media up to 10 minutes and 100 MB.
- One 15-second snippet per recognition.
- A small number of recognitions per address every 10 minutes.
