Find the song in an Instagram Reel

Updated 2026-10-04

A Reel can carry a track its caption never mentions — or one that was replaced by the time you watched it. The audio itself still knows, and that is what a snippet can be matched against.

How it works

Paste a public Instagram Reel or post link. The server reads the media's audio, cuts a 15-second snippet, and matches it against the music database. You get the title and artist, plus official listening links when they are available.

Which Instagram links work

  • instagram.com/reel/… — a Reel.
  • instagram.com/p/… — a post. If it carries audio, it can be read.
  • Public content only. A private account's post cannot be reached.

Step by step

1Copy the Reel linkFrom the share menu on the app, or the address bar in a browser.
2Paste it inOptionally set a start time where the music is clear.
3Read the resultTitle, artist and listening links appear on the page.
Reels often open with a spoken hook before the music starts. If your first attempt matches nothing, give it a start time a few seconds in — right where the track takes over.

Limits

  • Media up to 10 minutes and 100 MB.
  • One 15-second snippet per recognition.
  • A small number of recognitions per address every 10 minutes.
  • Nothing is uploaded from your device; the snippet is deleted right after recognition.
